Writers' Coffee Club

The Story Bridge Writers' Coffee Club, from $9 per week

All writers have questions: What's the best way to sell my book? How do I find an editor? What can I do about writer's block? Most of us just want someone to talk to when we have a problem that needs sorting or advice on just one question. Not everyone is ready for a full manuscript assessment but they need something now to keep them on track with their book or writing project.

If this sounds like you then The Story Bridge Writers' Coffee Club is for YOU.

Applications are now open for the next The Story Bridge Writers' Coffee Club for a start in October, 2014. Numbers are limited. Send us an email  (to thestorybridge@gmail.com) or complete the Contact Form to the right on this site and tell us in no more than two sentences why you want to be part of our Writers' Coffee Club. Applications close on 6 October 2014.  We'll be in touch after that and, if selected, your first meeting will be on Saturday 11 October.

How does the Writers' Coffee Club work? In the time it takes to drink a cup of coffee, you can move your book and publishing project along to the next step. Imagine if you could meet and talk with either of The Story Bridge team (James George or Jocelyn Watkin) over a coffee to access to their knowledge or back up this knowledge through a mixture of articles, blogs, tips and ideas.

Read what Charlotte Robertson says about the Writers' Coffee Club: Thank you for your inspiration, motivation, knowledge and skills. It feels great to be moving along with more confidence... and contacts... towards publication.

For the same price of two coffees per week (yours and one for us (James or Jocelyn)) = $9 per week, you can get ideas, motivation and inspiration to get:
  •  Your book started
  •  Your book finished
  •  Your book published
  •  Your book marketed
  •  Help in solving a writing problem
  •  Help in using social media (as a writer) such as Twitter or Facebook
  •  Help in overcoming writers' block
  •  Monthly contact with others in the Writers' Coffee Club
You can choose the 'regular' membership at $9 per week or pay double for our new, hot and sweet 'double shot' membership. Double shot provides all of the benefits for regular-sized membership PLUS a mini assessment of two pages of your writing per month.

Regular-sized membership: $9 per week (2 coffees) equals $39 per month. For that you would receive:
  • One personal (i.e. 1-on-1) 15-minute phone (Auckland calling area) or Skype call per month (from either Jocelyn or James) to discuss your writing project, seek help with or ask a question on writing craft, indie publishing (self-publishing), motivation, marketing, etc.
  • One free article/lesson on writing craft per month, which you can read over a cup of coffee.  These articles are of general interest to all writers and are especially written for Writer's Coffee Club members (as a group, not for specific individuals). They will be written like we are talking to you over a coffee. They will not be the same material as our bi-monthly e-newsletters.
