Flash fiction aficionados! Readers and writers! June 22 is not only Winter Solstice, it is National Flash Fiction Day – celebrate the shortest day with the shortest stories. Come along to Flash and Flasher – announcing the regional winner and short-listed entrants in the 2014 National Flash Fiction Day competition. 

Come and hear regional finalists and other special guest flash fiction writers reading from this fast-rising new literary form – with MC Rosetta Allan.

During this workshop you will create and build your own website and blog, which you can use and develop further at home.  You will learn how to use your new website to increase your profile as a writer and to sell more of your books. Easy, hands-on and designed for beginners.
You will also learn:
•       Why the 21stC writer needs to be an internet entrepreneur
•       How other writers use websites
•       How to design your own website to suit your books and your readers
•       How to write blog posts
•       How to add a page to your site to feature and promote your  own books for sale
•       How to link from your site to Amazon (or other places where your book(s) are listed for sale)
•       How to add photos to your site
•       How to link from your site to your Facebook, Twitter  or other social media sites (Note: This course is not about how to use Facebook, Twitter or other social media)

This 3-day course is for anyone who has already done a bit of creative writing, or attended Stage 1 (the 2-day course Fundamentals of Creative Writing) and who wants to develop and build on this: narrative/character/writer’s voice, the intricacies of point of view; character development beyond the basics; the text/subtext relationship; turning points, managing tension. In brief: how to bring a story together from ideas and pieces of plot and characterization.
This course runs from 9:30AM to 4PM each day with an hour's break for lunch.  Please bring a packed lunch.
